Pentagon Freight Services Erbil is pleased to announce its sponsorship and support for the Rugby for Refugees Campaign in partnership with the Rise Foundation.

The campaign will see a representative team from Kurdistan led by PFS Erbil’s Country Manager Neil Young, entering the Dubai 7s International Rugby Tournament from the 2-5th December 2015. The team is comprised of players from New Zealand, Scotland, England, Canada, Kenya and even Kurdistan, Iraq.

The main aim of Rugby For Refugees is to raise money and awareness to help some of the 1.75 Million displaced people in the Iraqi Kurdish capital of Erbil. These displaced people comprising of Christians, Muslims and Yazidis, have found themselves in Erbil having fled areas now occupied by ISIS. Many are living in makeshift houses without adequate sanitation, heating or even drinking water. With the various aid agencies stretched to capacity and a Kurdish Government bereft of resources due to both the oil price crisis and military conflict, it is now becoming critical that these displaced people receive immediate help.

If you are watching the Dubai 7s this year keep an eye out for the Kurdistan Irregulars team and the Pentagon Freight Services logo on the back of the shirts!
