Pentagon Open New Office in Northern Iraq

Pentagon Freight Services are proud to announce the opening of Northern Logistics Services in Erbil, Northern Iraq. This office will be able to affect customs clearance and delivery in the Kurdistan region of Northern Iraq and establishes a strong Pentagon presence in the region by complimenting our existing office in the South. Whilst the major oil companies are operating in Southern Iraq, much of the business in Erbil is with independent oil companies and associated support companies. The new office is headed up by Richard Wilson with direct line support from Dave Hart and Clive Meakin.

Pentagon ‘Kick Off’ Offshore Europe

Pentagon Aberdeen held a customer appreciation event on the first evening of Offshore Europe 2011. With the Scotland National Football team playing in a crunch European Championships Qualifier, PFS clients joined staff for an exclusive drinks evening. Penta-Piper James Houston-McMillan got the night underway with the bagpipes and the crowd pleaser Flower of Scotland began an excellent night ending in the wee small hours. This was a must attend event for all around town and with a 100+ clients joining staff on the evening will be hard to beat for the next Offshore Europe, 2013. Special thanks to all staff who made it along on the night.

Pentagon Indonesia Secures Another Air Charter

Pentagon Indonesia was quick to respond when its customer, Great Wall Drilling, had an urgent need to move spare parts for one of its rigs to Ambon, Maluku province. Pentagon secured a Boeing 737 and the items reached the rig within 12 hours of go ahead by the client. Pentagon Jakarta Office Celebrates Two Years of Successful Operations

All staff and their families enjoyed a relaxing weekend at Fantasy World Ancol, Jakarta on 23 - 24 July to celebrate the close of another successful year for PT Pentagon Logistics Indonesia. According to Hedi Prayitbo, Pentagon’s Indonesia Counry Manager, “Despite the success achieved so far, we are not resting on our laurels and we are gearing up for an expansion phase which may see the opening of additional offices to service the needs of our oilfield and mining customers accross the archipelago”. Pentagon Indonesia’s current operations are based in Jakarta and Balikpapan.

Pentagon Freight Services Inaugural Charity Golf Event

Charity Golf Event

Pentagon Freight Services Inc, an international service provider to the Oil & Gas industry, hosted a Charity Golf Event in aid of The University of Texas MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital. Around 80 guests enjoyed a stunning day at Augusta Pines in Spring, TX and raised an impressive $37,345 for this worthwhile and life changing cause. George Booth (Senior Vice President) told guests that “Pentagon was attracted to supporting MD Anderson since both organizations had a strong local presence in Houston but were also having significant global impact.” With 35 offices worldwide and 140 employees in Houston, Pentagon ships equipment to and from global oilfield locations whilst The University of Texas MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital is positively changing lives in our local communities whilst welcoming patients from over 40 countries to benefit from their world class facilities and treatment. Les Watson (Senior Vice President) added “Following a busy week at OTC, it was great to relax with clients and suppliers whilst knowing that everything we did on the day was benefitting such a worthy cause. We look forward to supporting MD Anderson in future events and playing a small part in their fight to beat cancer once and for all.”

Annual Group Managers Meeting

Pentagon management from around the world met in Rome for our Group Annual Manager's Meeting. As well as the formal meeting which dealt with some of the key and relevant issues in our organization, it was a great opportunity to meet our international colleagues and discuss co-operation and shared objectives. As Pentagon continues to grow, it is important we maintain the unity of the group and share ideas and information that will allow us all to strengthen our offering to the market-place. Rome provided a stunning backdrop in which to meet and organized excursions allowed all delegates to enjoy this remarkable city.

Pentagon Open 3rd Australian Office

Dampier

Pentagon Freight Services Australia are proud to announce the opening of our third Australian office in Dampier, Western Australia. Dampier/Karratha is located within the north west shelf area of Western Australia, approximately 1500kms north of Perth. This region is the prime location in Australia for offshore oil and gas activity. We are located close to the Burrup Peninsula wharf and marine base facilities, where most of the offshore oil and gas marine activities take place. This location allows us to efficiently deliver consignments to support vessels on behalf of our clients for forwarding on to rigs and offshore facilities. We currently have access to 6,000m2 of outdoor laydown area with crane, forklift and transport facilities available. We also have plans to increase our laydown area to 15,000m2 and undercover warehousing to 1,500m2 by January 2012. Our Material and Logistics Co-ordinator, Anthony Black, is responsible for the local operations with management, admin and operational support provided by our Perth office. This is a new venture for Pentagon Australia and we are very excited by the opportunity to provide the full supply chain solution to our existing client base and offer enhanced services to new customers. Pentagon sponsored Lawrie wins on Tour

Pentagon’s development of our sister company’s METS (Middle East Tubular Services) yard carries on at the Khor Al Zubair Free Zone, Basra, Iraq. With over 50,000 square meters of pipe, rig and general oilfield equipment, storage and lay down area, complemented by experienced personnel on site and facilities to handle all oilfield products, Pentagon will be in a unique position to supply the emerging oil and energy business in Iraq with a seamless supply of oilfield products on a door to door basis throughout Iraq. We expect the yard to be fully operational by May 2011.

M/V “Lucky Whale” Dubai, UAE

Lucky Whale

To complement our services into Iraq, we are proud to announce that the M/V “Lucky Whale” (formerly the M/V Lena) will be under Pentagon charter from the 5th April 2011. The vessel will be shuttling between Hamriya in Sharjah, Jebel Ali in Dubai and Khor Al Zubair Port and/or Umm Qasr Port, Iraq and inter Persian Gulf ports. Pentagon Dubai Golf Day with Paul Lawrie

Pentagon Dubai held their annual golf tournament at the Earth Course, which was also attended by Paul Lawrie whom Pentagon sponsor. 64 customers and staff enjoyed a golf clinic by Paul, in the hope that that would hone their skills for the forthcoming round. Paul also then hit a shot on the par 3 17th hole with every group. This year 8 guests hit inside Paul’s shot, which out of 64 is a fair result for Paul. After the golf, Paul did a Q&A session, greatly enjoyed by one and all.

Appointment of Global Compliance Director

Matt Scheffe

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Matt Scheffe as Pentagon’s Group Global Compliance Director, based in Houston. Matt’s primary focus will be to further Pentagon’s commitment to compliance excellence by enhancing our Global Compliance Program; ensuring global operations continues to be conducted ethically and in compliance with applicable regulations and laws. Matt will report directly to the CEO and the Senior Corporate Board of Directors.

Matt comes to us with 20 plus years of experience in the compliance field, developing, implementing and monitoring compliance programs at Halliburton, KBR and Weatherford. He has extensive hands-on experience with US trade sanctions and export compliance matters, as well as ITAR (Munitions) compliance and licensing.

Matt’s responsibilities will include:
- Maintenance, monitoring and continuous improvement of Pentagon’s Global Compliance Program
- Monitoring regulatory and legislative changes and implement changes to the Program as necessary
- Development and delivery of a consistent and comprehensive global Training Program
- Supporting the Pentagon network of owned offices on all compliance related issues
- Monitoring and auditing Pentagons agents and 3rd party logistics representatives to ensure compliance throughout our supply chain
- Liaise with Operations personnel to identify and address issues
- Liaise with clients, directly and through Sales, to ensure Pentagon’s Compliance Program is robust, effective and complementary to their requirements and interests
- Liaise with government personnel on compliance related issues

PFS Great Yarmouth Opens New Freight Centre

Pentagon Great Yarmouth have moved into a bespoke office and warehouse facility on Riverside Road. Called “The Pentagon Freight Centre”, the facility boasts 1000 sq ft of offices and over 3,300 sq ft of warehouse space. Branch Manager Phill Crane says “The investment and commitment in supporting the move enhances our belief that the market place in Gt Yarmouth and the surrounding areas is still a major area for Pentagon going forward.”

Former Open Champion Paul Lawrie Signs Sponsorship Agreement with Pentagon Freight Services PLC

Scottish golfer and former Open Champion Paul Lawrie has signed a sponsorship agreement with Pentagon Freight Services, the global services provider to the Oil & Gas and Marine sectors.

Lawrie, from Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland, has won arguably the most prestigious trophy in golf, the claret jug, following his triumph at the Open Championships in 1999. He went on to win four further events on the European Tour with victories in Spain, Qatar, Wales and Scotland, as well as representing the European Ryder Cup team in 1999.

Pentagon Freight Services, who also have a link to Aberdeen through their UK office, saw a natural crossover with Lawrie and their own company values; both have become established global players, dedicated to continuous improvement and further success and development. Director of the UK office, George Booth, is delighted to announce their partnership with Lawrie and commented: “It gives us great pleasure to announce this partnership with Paul Lawrie and align Pentagon Freight Services with one of Scotland’s great achievers on the golf course. We both have a strong connection to the North East of Scotland but Paul also competes in many of our other key markets in Europe, the United Arab Emirates and Asia.”

Lawrie was also delighted to strengthen his portfolio of sponsors and is pleased to be helping promote the services of another company from his home town of Aberdeen.
