Favourite thing about your job?
Being in the Freight forwarding industry for 23 years I am still challenged on a regular basis and still learning new things; constantly required to think outside the box. Every day is different and you never know what to expect when each day starts.

Summarise Pentagon’s services in three words?
Confident, Efficient and Professional

Most unusual or challenging freight job you’ve been involved in?
Difficult to pick out the most unusual or challenging freight job. I have had the opportunity to be involved in many different types of shipments thus far in my forwarding career. Interesting shipments such as co-ordinating the importation and exportation of Proto-type vehicles into Toronto for furtherance into Northern Ontario for cold weather testing; distributing / importing and exporting un-released films, the exportation of project and break bulk shipments worldwide. .

Since Edmonton and Alberta in general are land-locked we are challenged on a regular basis with all of the cargo aircraft only / large / break bulk / project including rig moves Pentagon is involved with. We are constantly faced with extreme weather conditions, carrier / road / route and travel time restrictions.

One interesting – and little-known – fact about Edmonton?
Edmonton is one of the largest cities in North America by area and is slightly larger than the country of Cyprus.

Other than Edmonton, your favourite place in the world?

Your interests outside work?
Spending time with my family, quilting, camping, quading and target shooting just to name a few.
