We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Team Lead based in our Eagle Farm, Brisbane facility. This role will report to the QLD Manager and will be responsible for coordinating the flow of material for our customers from Global Locations to Papua New Guinea whilst also ensuring that all aspects of the supply chain are managed efficiently and effectively from receipt of order from the customer’s Buying Department through to receipt at final destination.

Role Overview

  • Effectively manage the day-to-day operational requirements of customer accounts, including the management of the designated operators
  • Managing the performance of the MR Administrators, ensuring all client KPIs are achieved and information is processed through SAP and Insight in an efficient manner
  • Working closely with our Storemen and Warehouse Team Lead, ensuring all customer receiving KPIs and packing requirements are met 
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to the team, ensuring that workloads are equally distributed within the department
  • Acting as an escalation point for client issues, resolving all queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Facilitating air and sea freight of various types of cargo including dangerous goods and commercial shipments both domestic and international
  • Assisting with quotations and tender obligations 
  • Preparing job files for invoicing in line with contractual rates
  • Monitoring the accuracy and status of 3rd party invoices, ensuring these are coded and passed to accounts in line with company policy
  • Preparing statistical reporting for presentation to Pentagon management and customer supply chain 
  • Actively participating in customer QBR’s, conference calls and meetings

What we’re looking for

  • Experience managing a 3PL solution for a large multi-national company operating in the Oil & Gas sector
  • Extensive knowledge of Freight Management Systems with a minimum of 3 – 5 year’s experience
  • Minimum 3 – 5 year’s experience managing Warehouse processes with a focus on the inbound receipting process and data capture
  • Minimum of 7 years operational experience
  • Previous management experience with a strong ability to drive, develop and motivate team members
  • Freight forwarding and customs experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of Customs ICS and Cyberfreight computer systems
  • Advanced negotiation and relationship skills
  • Experience influencing and engaging key figures in client organisations
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
  • High attention to detail and strong planning and organising skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
