Emirates SkyCargo - New Facility at DWC
From 1st May, all Emirates SkyCargo's freighter operations will move to a new state-of-the-art home in Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central (DWC).
What will change?
Initially, you will notice very little difference. The processes for export and import will remain the same, whether cargo is travelling in passenger bellyhold, by freighter or transiting between the two airports.
Acceptance and delivery of all non-perishable cargo will continue to take place in Dubai International Airport (DXB) at the Cargo Village's Cargo Mega Terminal and Emirates Cargo Centre. At the current time, there will be no acceptance or deliveries of shipments at DWC, with the exception of perishable cargo.
As Emirates passenger flights continue to operate at DXB, they have commissioned a fleet of trucks to transfer cargo between the two airports 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Exports accepted at DXB for freighter aircraft will be transferred by truck to DWC.
Emirates will also provide road feeder services from DWC to all other UAE airports, including Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Sharjah (SHJ), as well as to Jebel Ali Free Zone.
